2023 FIELDS & FOREST ULTRA-TRAIL MARATHON RACE REPORT

The inaugural event of the 34 mile, Fields and Forest Ultra-Trail Marathon took place on 23 September 2023 at The Grumpy Goat in Bardwell, Suffolk.

In ideal running conditions, 43 runners started the race at 0900am and the route saw them take in Suffolk and Norfolk's finest trails, forest and farmland. The weather stayed dry and sunny for the whole day and all 43 runners completed the race within the cut off. There was a fantastic atmosphere at the finish with runners and supporters enjoying the food and drink from the Grumpy Goat and cheering the finishing runners in.

Runners commented on the fantastic, beginner friendly route and the event is set to become a regular fixture in Suffolk's ultramarathon calendar.
